The Institute for Global Law, Economics and Finance at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies is organising a panel on Competition Enforcement in Digital Markets.
The European Commission in 2015 launched a sector inquiry into e-commerce. Other enforcement efforts of the Commission includes the investigation involving Sky and the contracts it signed with six major US film studios, the investigations on the Android market and Google’s comparison shopping service amongst other conducts, cases against Qualcomm and formal proceedings against Amazon in relation to its contracts with e-book publishers. The panel shall discuss issues such as geo-blocking, parity clauses, and competition issues that arise on online platforms.
