The first lecture in this new series of CLSGC policy lectures will be given on 28 January 2016 by Tracy Robinson, Commissioner at the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights. The title of her lecture will be 'Sexual, Gender and Bodily Diversity in the Inter-American Human Rights System'. This lecture will be chaired by Professor Phoebe Okowa, who directs the series.
This event is hosted by the Centre for Law and Society in a Global Context (CLSGC) and the Human Rights Collegium (HRC) in the School of Law, Queen Mary University of London.
About the speaker
Tracy Robinson is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona, Jamaica. Her recent academic publications include the book Robinson, Bulkan, Saunders, Fundamentals of Caribbean Constitutional Law (Sweet & Maxwell 2015). She is serving a four year term (that ends in December 2015) as a member of the Inter American Commission on Human Rights. She was the Inter-American Commission’s President between March 2014 and March 2015 and is its Rapporteur for the Rights of Women and the Rapporteur for the Rights of LGBTI Persons.
This event will be followed by a drinks reception to which all attendees are invited.
