About the Role

The Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is a part of the Cancer Research UK City of London Centre whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research in the laboratory, in patients and in populations. BCI is committed in supporting and developing future cancer researchers through its extensive postgraduate training.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is outcome driven for a role as the Research Computing Manager specific knowledge of the NHS Data Security Protection Toolkit, ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus. The post supports clinical trials as well as supporting lab and core facility research equipment that staff and students carry out towards achieving the objectives as set out in the FMD Research and Education Strategy. This post also has line management responsibilities and is in charge of the day to day running of the institutes client and server infrastructure located at Charterhouse Square and external sites.

The post holder will liaise with both external and internal stakeholders This is a busy role in a demanding, fast-paced environment, and the post holder will be expected to exercise sound judgement, acting with complete discretion at all times.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment, with an expected start date in June 2022. The starting salary will be Grade 6, in the range of £48,035 - £53,625 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
