About the Role

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for a permanent part-time (5PA) position of Clinical Senior Lecturer / Honorary Consultant in Oral Surgery in the Institute of Dentistry, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London and Barts Health NHS Trust.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London (although the post holder may also be required to carry out duties on other College/Hospital sites). Teaching commitments will be on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Within the Institute you will play an active role in the organisation and delivery of teaching as well as assessment of undergraduate and post graduate students in oral surgery.  Within the Trust you will be expected to provide specialist services, advice and treatment appropriate to the needs of the Institute of Dentistry and the Trust by liaising and collaborating with senior colleagues within the Institute of Dentistry and within Barts Health NHS Trust.

About You

We seek experienced applicants with clinical specialist skills in Oral Surgery to contribute fully to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical services.  You will have a PhD in Oral Surgery, and / or relevant professional qualification and / or equivalent professional experience and substantial experience in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level in large or small group settings with the demonstrable ability to deliver teaching at both levels with some guidance. Appropriate honorary clinical contracts will be requested from Barts Health NHS Trust and the successful applicants will be expected to take part in all aspects of clinical governance activities.

This part time post (5Pas/20 hours) is indefinite with an expected start date of September 2022 or soon thereafter. Appointments will be made on the salary scale for staff holding a new Honorary Consultant Contract, with a salary in the range of £84,559 - £114,003 per annum pro rata depending on experience and seniority/threshold, plus London Allowance of £2,161 per annum (pro-rata).
