About the Role
We wish to appoint an experienced flow cytometrist to manage and run the flow cytometry sorting and analysis facility, a joint resource within the Barts Cancer Institute shared with the William Harvey Research Centre, located in Charterhouse Square, Queen Mary University of London. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the multi-laser Aria II, Aria Fusion, ImageStreamX MarkII, cyTOF2, Hyperion/Helios, Cytek Aurora, Attune and Fortessa’s./Symphony machines as well as in the organisation and management of the facility. There will be active collaborations with many research teams within the two Institutes and involvement in supporting existing research and developing novel flow cytometry applications. The post holder will manage and train a small team of staff to support and train research staff in flow cytometry and be available to advise on technical issues that may arise with the Institutes’ flow analysers.

About You
The successful candidate will be educated to at least graduate level, have substantial experience in flow cytometry and be self-motivated, hardworking and reliable. The successful candidate will be expected to underpin the operation of this core facility and be active in developing the facility further. Experience in managing staff would be a significant advantage.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square campus in London. It is a full time (35 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 4 years, with an expected start date of December 2021 or January 2022. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £38,655 - £45,479 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance. For exceptional candidates, a market supplement will be considered.
