About the Role

The purpose of this job is to draw on data science and network science to explore how online engagement and communication patterns can affect patients’ satisfaction and well-being. The post-holder will liaise with the digital teams at HealthUnlocked, Asthma UK-BLF, to plan and undertake analyses of various datasets concerned with online health communities. They will ensure the outcomes will be relevant and promptly implementable using the digital tools currently adopted by HealthUnlocked and Asthma UK-BLF digital teams, and curate data and analyse the online community datasets including participants of the feasibility study and trial.

About You

Candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science, Big Data Analytics or another relevant specialisation. They will have appropriate digital skills and knowledge of programming languages (Python, C++, etc.), experience with Machine and Deep Learning models and software (Keras, Scikit-Learn, Convolutional Neural Networks, etc.), and of all aspects of the research process up to writing for publication. They will have ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and autonomously.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 5 years, with an expected start date of January 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 4/5, in the range of £34,770 - £45,479 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
