Applications are invited for the role of Lecturer in Biochemistry/Cell Biology/Microbiology. We are seeking an outstanding candidate with an established track record of teaching and research in the fields of Biochemistry, Cell Dynamics, or Microbiology. We particularly welcome applications from candidates whose research encompasses infectious diseases or who could contribute to teaching in this area.
The successful candidate will have a PhD Biochemistry/Cell Biology/Microbiology or related subject and/or relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent professional experience. As Lecturer, you will be expected to have a track-record of high quality research in the field at a national and ideally international level, including publications in renowned journals. Candidates should have evidence of the development and delivery of research-led teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as clear and ambitious plans for future research.
The post-holder will be based in the Department of Biochemistry, part of the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences. The Department has core strengths in Cell Dynamics and Structural Biology, and the wider School is a large and expanding academic unit that provides a supportive, friendly, and collaborative environment.

The post is based at the Mile End / Whitechapel Campus in London. It is a full time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date of August 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary will be in Grade 5-6, in the range of £43,069 - £53,625 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
