Black Women’s Reproductive Health Project (BWRH) is a team of volunteers working to highlight the experiences of Black and Black-mixed (African/Caribbean, British) women with female reproductive systems, menstrual and reproductive health needs. Through conducting surveys, focus groups and peer support groups, and engaging with a vast range of stakeholders, this project has sought to understand the influence of systemic racism and unconscious bias and identify ways to bridge the gap in reducing these influences, including biases held by healthcare professionals about Black women.
This talk will discuss the key focus and research findings of the project as well as key takeaways, recommendations and future steps.
