International students

Medicine

This one-year foundation programme offers international students – who may not have had the chance to study A-level-equivalent qualifications – the chance to achieve the right academic level, as well as English language and academic skills, to study Medicine at our Malta campus.

Upon successful completion, students will graduate with a Foundation Certificate (FDCert), and will be eligible to progress onto the MBBS Malta course subject to earning at least 120 credits and meeting our other progression requirements.

As a foundation student you’ll have full access to all student facilities, including welfare, library, social and sport. You’ll be taught by experienced university staff who also teach on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

MBBS Malta

Queen Mary University of London has launched a five-year Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme taught on the Mediterranean islands of the Maltese Republic. The MBBS is taught by Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, a faculty of Queen Mary, a member of the Russell Group of leading research-led UK universities.

The programme has been designed to provide students with the medical knowledge, clinical skills and professional attitudes that are required to become a competent Foundation Year (FY1) Doctor. Our spiral curriculum is taught in a series of modules which are based on body systems which, in turn, encompass various scientific and medical themes. For further details of the MBBS (Malta), please click here.

From my point of view, the program is essential for students coming from different backgrounds to help them adapt to the new experience, society, and academic lifestyle. And coming from a different setting, the course helped in preparing me for the new learning environment that I am hopefully going to pursue the next 5 years.
