Information for students from Serbia

Queen Mary University of London has a long history of welcoming students from around the world. Over the years, many thousands of international students have graduated from the university and gone on to pursue successful careers. Today, we are home to students from more than 162 different countries and over 45% of our student body come from outside of the UK. This diversity contributes to a lively and welcoming community which should make you feel comfortable and at home.

We are one of the largest colleges of the University of London and one of the few with fully integrated teaching, research and residential facilities. Our setting provides our students with the benefits of both a large campus environment, and the countless academic and social opportunities provided by London.

There are currently 9 students from Serbia studying at Queen Mary who are enrolled on a range of degree programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

 

Entry requirements

Recognition of Serbian Qualifications for Undergraduate Entry

Academic:

  • QM accepts Serbian students holding a good Secondary School Leaving Certificate for a Bachelors entry. Students will be expected to be achieving grades 4 and above in all relevant subjects.
  • Serbian students with a vocational focus might be granted admission to Bachelor programmes as well, depending on their results.
  • Please refer to the prospectus and department web sites for individual subject A-level and IB requirements.

Recognition of Serbian Qualifications for Graduate Entry

Master's degrees (all one year)

Academic:

  • The exact requirements will depend on the programme you are applying for but the College generally considers applicants holding the equivalent to a 2:1 Bachelor degree from a recognised Serbian university for postgraduate taught programmes.
  • Case specific decisions are made for students holding other post-school qualifications.
  • Please note that all applications are considered on an individual basis and students may be admitted to Master's programmes with a lower level degree if they have significant work experience relevant to the degree applied for.

Research degree (MPhil/PhD: 3 years)

Academic:

The usual entrance requirement to be considered for admission to a research degree is a Majistar, Masters degree from a recognised Serbian university. Some departments may also consider students with a First or Upper Second Class Bachelor’s degree.
