QMUL celebrates renewed partnership with Santander
We have renewed our partnership with Santander Universities for another three years until 2020. It will build on previous years’ work of providing opportunities to students and supporting local and global communities.
Principal Professor Colin Bailey said: “I am delighted to be renewing this agreement with the Santander Universities network. Our relationship is based on shared objectives of student support, enhancement of the student experience and the opening up of international connections and opportunities. We look forward to working with Santander Universities over the coming years to take forward these objectives.” More.

Join in the celebrations to mark the launch of our new arts and culture strategy
Professor Andrea Brady and Jana Riedel from the School of English and Drama have been leading the development of a new five-year arts and cultural strategy for the university, focusing on the themes of global research, community engagement, and creative leadership. All staff and students are invited to its official launch on Wednesday 8 November at the People’s Palace, Mile End. This event celebrates the transformative cultural experiences that students, staff and members of the public enjoy at QMUL, and will bring together artists from the QMUL community with international leaders from the cultural sector. Dr Sophie Harman's feature film wins two awards at Dinard Festival of British Cinema
Congratulations to QMUL researcher, Dr Sophie Harman from the School of Politics and International Relations, whose feature film, Pili, picked up two prestigious awards at the 28th Dinard British Film Festival. The film was awarded the Hitchcock Public Award and Special Mention for the Hitchcock Screenplay Award. Read more about Pili on our news pages. |

Professor Rupert Pearse appointed Clinical Director of Research and Development
Professor Rupert Pearse from the William Harvey Research Institute has been appointed as the new Clinical Director of Research and Development. He will lead a new strategy to develop a more effective clinical research infrastructure, improving both the quality and quantity of clinical studies led by QMUL and Barts Health NHS Trust. More. |

Colleagues from Global Public Health Unit elected to board of International Association of Health Policy in Europe (IAHPE)
Congratulations to Dr Elias Kondilis, Dr Doreen Montag, Dr Miran Epstein, Dr Jonathan Filippon, Arianna Rotulo and Hannah Cowen, who were elected during the IAHPE’s annual conference in Greece. The conference was a collaboration between QMUL and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and was attended by more than 200 scholars, students and activists from over 25 different countries. Celebrating our new Fellows
Over the past year, 211 colleagues from across QMUL were awarded Fellowships by the Higher Education Academy (HEA). To celebrate their achievements, they were invited to a reception event hosted by the Educational Development team in September. More.

REF sub-panel chair vacancies
The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) is inviting applications for sub-panel chairs for the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF). Information about the role and requirements is on Connected.
