Consultation begins on changes to the Centre for Academic and Professional Development (CAPD)

A consultation has begun on a proposal for change that will affect staff working in CAPD, Student Services and Human Resources (HR). The drivers for change are to provide enhanced support for teaching and learning – in particular for the introduction of the QMUL Model and Teaching Excellence Framework, as well as a need to focus on key transition periods within the student journey with increased focus on student life and campus experience activities to support student wellbeing and to enhance the staff experience – a critical agenda identified in the People Strategy.

The key proposals include that CAPD will no longer exist as a separate department. Two teams from CAPD will join HR and the other two will join Student Services in a new Academic Development division, which will be created with current teams in the Student Services directorate. Within Student Services there will be a new central administration team reporting to the Director, with other administrative support embedded in service delivery teams. More.
