Change from Queen Mary Student Survey to UK Engagement Survey

Following consultation with key stakeholders, QMSE has approved a proposal to replace our internal survey for undergraduate students, the Queen Mary Student Survey (QMSS), with the UK Engagement Survey (UKES) from this year. Feedback from the consultation indicated a preference to replace the QMSS with the UKES and run it in semester 2, as part of a ‘survey season’ alongside the National Student Survey, Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey, and biennial Postgraduate Research Experience Survey. The decision means that the QMSS will not run in September and October. Please note, however, that the Arrivals Survey, delivered at the start of the academic year to new entrants, will run as normal in September and October. More.

Revised employment policies and briefing sessions

A reminder that QMUL has launched four revised employment policies and procedures. These are: Discipline, Grievance, Capability, and Attendance. The revised policies have been subject to extensive discussions with trade unions, and seek to encourage early dialogue and positive and timely interactions between staff and managers. A number of briefing sessions for managers and staff are taking place during September and October. More.

Password management service

IT Services has upgraded the system that allows you to manage your QMUL password. The next time you sign in to Password Reset Manager (PRM), you will be prompted to complete your security questions and answers. This is a necessary step in the re-registration process following the upgrade and cannot be bypassed. For more information about PRM, please visit the IT Services website. For help resetting your password, please contact the IT Service Desk on 020 7882 8888.
