Travel

THE INFORMATION BELOW IS NO LONGER APPLICABLE, AS THE CONFERENCE WILL NOW BE HELD ONLINE.

Information on getting from London’s airports to central London can be found here.

Information about getting to London by train can be found here. Euston, King’s Cross, Liverpool Street, Paddington, St Pancras and Stratford stations all have direct public transport connections to the QMUL campus.

London has an extensive public transportation network of underground trains (the "tube"), overground trains, buses, trams, and river ferries. For information on public transport in London, see here.

Oyster card

The best way to travel around London is Oyster card. This can be used on the underground and local trains and buses. It’s important to get one (or another type of TFL travel card) because you cannot use cash to pay on London buses. Oyster cards can be purchased at major underground stations and other TFL sales outlets.

If you have a contactless bank card, you can use this the same way that you would use an Oyster, and the fares are the same. For details, visit the TFL website.

Citymapper

Citymapper is a useful app for finding your way around London. It provides information on the best routes of travel to any destination, using either public transport or private hire car services. Every Londoner will have it on their phone! We recommend that you download it before you arrive (it also works in 38 other cities around the world).
