What makes Comparative Literature special?

The comparatist George Steiner once said, “comparison enables us to see more.” And that’s exactly what our Comparative Literature programme does.

This is course where you’ll study literature from a breathtaking variety of countries, and relate it to everything from philosophy to painting, film and music. You could study a short story in Japanese, Russian, French and Spanish – all in one module.

Hear our BA students explain the benefits to the course, and how the core and optional modules work together you give you a well-rounded degree in Comparative Literature.
