Settlement Workshops

What does home feel like to you and how would you visualise it?

This question was at the centre of Sue Mayo's Settlement Workshops that for four Saturdays across March and April invited the general public to explore places and their sense of belonging along the Kingsland Road.

Using natural and found materials participants were encouraged to create imaginary spaces as well as maps and structures of their local areas and their home.

The workshops extended on the pilot that was run at the Launch Event 'Home and the City: Celebrating life on the Kingsland Road' at the Geffrye Museum on 25 February, where a long map of Kignsland Road was created using beans and other found objects.
