Special Subject Modules



In your third year you will take a 60-credit Special Subject module, where you closely examine a theme or period of history, taught by an expert researcher in the field.  Special Subjects are intensely source-based, and will give you the opportunity to work closely with a large number primary materials.  As part of your Special Subject, you will produce a 10,000 word dissertation on a related subject of your choice, giving you the freedom to explore and develop your own research project.  Read more about dissertations here.
