School of History

Our research centres hold a variety of events through the year.

These are often interdisciplinary throughout the faculty, and offer different insights into our research.

Many of our academics contribute to research seminars at the Institute of Historical Research(link is external).

About our research events

One of the most exciting ways in which to hear about our research is through the inaugural lectures of our newly appointed professors. They are a perfect opportunity to engage with our school and research.

Our annual Nicolai Rubinstein Lecture in the History of Political Thought attracts speakers and attendees from across the world.

Our research centres hold colloquia, seminars and lectures. These explore well-established areas of research strength, such as American history.  They also explore emergent research interests, such as music in the humanities.

Our staff, students and the school benefit from these collaborations, which are often with world-renowned experts.
