Professor Julian Jackson awarded The Elizabeth Longford Prize for Historical Biography

Published:

Head of School and Professor of Modern History Julian Jackson was this week awarded The Elizabeth Longford Prize for Historical Biography 2019, for his biography of Charles De Gaulle, A Certain Idea of France: The Life of Charles De Gaulle.

The Elizabeth Longford Prize for Historical Biography is judged by a panel of fellow historians and historical biographers and celebrates work which combines scholarship and narrative drive. The awarding of the Elizabeth Longford prize follows Julian's receipt of the Duff Cooper prize earlier this year for the same work. Julian's book also received positive media coverage across a number of outlets upon its release last year.
