Senior Lecturer in British Imperial History Dr Kim Wagner will appear on Channel 4's The Massacre That Shook the Empire tomorrow night (Saturday 13 April 2019). The documentary, directed by Chris Durlacher and hosted by writer Sathnam Sanghera, examines the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre and its legacy. Kim served as both a historical advisor and on-screen contributor to the programme.
The documentary follows the publication of Kim's latest book Amritsar 1919: An Empire of Fear and the Making of a Massacre (London: Yale University Press/New Delhi: Penguin India, 2019) which received strong reviews in The Times, The Economist, The Spectator and the London Review of Books.
