Module code: HST7342

Credits: 30

This module will deal with Irish writing - dramatic, fictional, poetic, polemical - from the eighteenth century to the present day, concentrating on its political dimensions, implicit and explicit, and the way that the uses of literature illuminate and complicate the Irish-British relationship, as well as exercising a disproportionate influence on modernist culture.
