This module will examine new approaches to international history and, in particular, the diverse forms of internationalism as an ideology and political program that developed in the twentieth century. Reaching back to the origins of internationalism as a concept and form of politics in the nineteenth century, the module will examine movements and institutions that self-consciously defined themselves as "international," ranging across the political spectrum from liberal, to socialist, and fascist. It will also examine the relationship between internationalism, nationalism, and imperialism in twentieth century visions of global order
