Lost your wallet? Stuck with the fresher’s flu already? Not to worry – we’ve got help on campus! This post can point you in the direction of the fundamental services that Queen Mary provides for students who are in a bit of a pickle.
Advice and Counselling Service – They provide help on anything and everything from settling into university, academic and social life. So whether you’re having problems balancing your studies, suffering from bereavement of a family member/relative or having issues with finance or immigration procedure, they listen to you with a confidential service in hand. The office is located on the ground floor of the Geography Building.
Student Enquiry Centre – They deal with student services such as printing official documents and letters which you will need if you want to open a bank account or get a student oyster card. They also help out with any enquiries regarding MySIS (the online system used for administering your personal details, course choices, results, etc). Their office is located at the west corridor in the ground floor of the Queens’ Building.
Student Health Service – Also located on the ground floor of the Geography Building is the Student Health Service where there is a wide range of facilities such as visiting a GP, blood tests and psychological counselling. Students living on campus and within E1, E2, E3 and E4 postcodes are eligible to register online with this health service.
IT Services – The main office is room W209 located in the West Wing of the Queens’ Building. They’re usually around during the first week in the library to help out with setting up your QMUL account and connecting your devices to the WiFi, Eduroam.
Residential Services and Support – Very helpful when you lose your key after one too many in Drapers! They are located in France House (near the canalside) and are open 24 hours, this is your go to place for any doubts, enquiries or problems regarding housing and related services!
QMUL Security – A lovely group of people who will always help you out. If you’ve lost your belongings or would like to report something to Security, either call them 020 7882 5000 or visit them at France House beside the canal. They also take control of car parking enforcements and providing access control in case your student IDs (the cards that give you access to different buildings) don’t work.
There is a whole lot more services and support available to students at Queen Mary - visit this website for further information.
