6 February 2019
Over thirty Geography undergraduates attended a careers panel on Tuesday 5 February, to hear from six School of Geography alumni on how to get in and get on in a career.
Undergraduates were able to ask advice from the panel of young graduates, including three who graduated in the summer of 2018, on careers in procurement, business management, technology consultancy, disaster relief, civil service (DEFRA) and surveying.
Whilst their career paths differed, the core advice from all graduates was similar: be proactive while at university. The alumni urged the audience to take every opportunity that they could, to partake in work experience placements and make use of the services on offer from the Queen Mary Careers and Enterprise Centre.
The evening left attendees feeling inspired by what these young alumni had already achieved.
