Latest Geography newsletter online now
The School of Geography has just published the latest edition of its newsletter for the Spring/Summer [PDF 832KB].
From expeditions in the Cairngorms, Scotland, to research projects in West Africa and East Anglia, activities have seen staff and students in the field across the world.
Second year BSc Geography students Josh Leigh and Tom Howlin have snapped up the opportunity to get involved in creating some educational resources of their own. The duo will be combining geocaching with field work to help first year students improve their navigation and spatial awareness skills on the annual Cairngorms fieldtrip.
Meanwhile, Dr Simon Lewis – who teaches on BSc Geography and Environmental Science – has been involved in a project to identify the ‘oldest footprints outside of Africa’ on the north-east coast of Norfolk, England.
With University of London Taster Days scheduled for June too, the School of Geography will be welcoming A-Level students from across the country to come and get a flavour of studying at Queen Mary.
