School Research Seminar: The Importance of Late-Glacial and Holocene Sequences from Chalk Land Dry Valleys in Southern England

3 February 2015

Time: 12:15 - 1:15pm
Venue: FB 2.07 City Centre seminar room

Speaker: Dr Richard Preece (Cambridge)

Chalkland valleys have been rather overlooked as a source of useful palaeoenvironmental records but in certain situations, especially where the floor of the valley has remained waterlogged, valuable sequences can be preserved. This talk will demonstrate this potential with respect to a number of sites in south-east England, including important sections that were temporarily exposed during the construction of the Channel Tunnel.‚Äč
