A half-day workshop followed by a drinks reception
Dr Kavita Datta and Dr Olivia Sheringham invite you to a special event from the Centre for the Study of Migration at Queen Mary University of London’s School of Geography exploring the experiences, emotions and identities of migrants returning ‘home’.
Replete with positive references to ‘managed return’, ‘sustainable return’ and ‘returning home’, return migration is increasingly positioned as being in the interests of migrants, home countries and host nations. This half-day seminar will interrogate these representations through an exploration of the everyday lived experiences of post-migration mobilities which include those who return, those who dream of returning, those who fear being forcibly returned, and the gendered dynamics of returning ‘home’.
The School would be delighted to welcome you to this event and hope that you will join researchers, students and visitors afterwards for a drinks reception too. The programme of speakers is attached.
