Queen Mary Geography Masters' Applicants 2014 Reception

12 March 2014

Time: 4:00 - 5:30pm
Venue: Common Room (1st floor), Geography Building, Queen Mary University of London

Thinking about starting a masters’ degree in 2014? Come along and join fellow potential students at a special reception here in the School of Geography on 12 March.

This informal event  offers potential applicants, applicants and offer holders a valuable opportunity to meet our Directors of Masters' Programmes and Graduate Studies, Dr Kavita Datta.

It’s a great way to meet the team that could be teaching you and find out everything you need to know ahead of September 2014 over refreshments with current students and staff too. You can find out more about the modules, research methods, field trips and bursaries available across the range of Queen Mary Geography Masters' programmes that could help you tailor your studies.

As the world of work grows more competitive, a master's degree significantly increases your opportunities of career advancement. But people do a master's degree for many reasons: to further their studies, as a basis for a career in research, as a way of maximising chances of employment in a specialist field, as a means of advancing their existing career, or to facilitate a career change - and Queen Mary's School of Geography recognises these diverse needs.

A hallmark of the School of Geography is its commitment to research that makes a difference: challenging conventional boundaries within the discipline and between the academy and the community. The masters' degrees develop this approach through engagement with a variety of leading academic experts and external organisations. Students at Queen Mary work with local, national and international charities and community organisations, government agencies and policy makers, museums and galleries, and industry practitioners.
