No Longer Invisible – Launch of research on London’s Latin American community directed by Dr Cathy McIlwaine

19 May 2011

Time: 2:30 - 5:00pm
Venue: City Hall - The Queen's Walk, More London, London SE1 2AA

Commissioned by Trust for London and the Latin American Women's Rights Service, No Longer Invisible is the most comprehensive research to date of this community which has often been overlooked. Produced by Queen Mary, University of London the report establishes a robust estimate of the size of the community and explores a number of key economic and social features of the Latin American community in London.

Based on over 1,000 questionnaires, as well as in-depth interviews and focus groups, the research is the first large-scale survey of the Latin American community in the city. It highlights a number of issues and paints a picture of a well-educated and hard-working community, yet one which faces multiple barriers to wider integration into British society.

People interested in attending should RSVP to Jaspal Babra at events@trustforlondon.org.uk or on 020 7606 6145 by Friday 13 May.
