‘Way My It Did I’ / (Life in the UK)
Directed by Maria Anastassiou
Set against the transient landscape of the Thames Estuary and laden with traces of the ever-shifting global accounts of commerce and migrations, Maria Anastassiou spent a year connecting with Tilbury-based refugee and migrant groups, including Romanian workers, Nigerian women asylum seekers and Filipino seafarers. Whilst holding a specific area under the lens, this film reflects national and international questions concerning the global and local in official narratives and the everyday.
