Introduction to Environmental Science at QMUL: Explore, Discover, Engage

This course will provide a taster of what studying Environmental Science at QMUL is like, including sample lectures and workshops with other students and members of academic staff. Students will have the opportunity to discover and explore how environmental science is helping us tackle environmental challenges, from global climate change to protecting local waterways, and learn how environmental science students can actively engage in projects to address some of these challenges.

There will also be an opportunity to visit QMUL's Environmental Science laboratories. The course will be of direct relevance to AS and A2 studies in Geography and Environmental Science. It will also be of interest to those studying other sciences (Chemistry, Physics or Biology), who are looking for a varied, less specialised, degree course. All students will be welcome on this course, including those who are not studying Geography at AS/A2 level.

Duration: Half day (12.45-4.30pm)

Subject area/s: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geography, Physics

Course Requirements: This taster course is open to year 11, 12 and 13 students or anyone considering starting their undergraduate studies in September 2017 or 2018.
