Kate Amis, schools liaison officer for the School of Geography leads this half day of urban fieldwork for teachers.

Join us to investigate Place Making in Tower Hamlets

Whether you want to enhance your understanding of concepts in cultural geography, develop a detailed local case study or consider ways of constructing field enquiries around place making this will be a useful half day for teachers of GCSE and A Level geography. This is a great opportunity to update your understanding of the concept of place identity and the role of diverse media in representing place.

The day will include input from some of the groups and organizations (planners, architects, residents associations and community groups) who have a role in shaping the area. Visit points will include places in the Whitechapel Vision planning scheme

A comprehensive resource pack is included for participating teachers.

Open to: Teachers

This event is free of charge but places should be booked in advance
