Could do better – QMUL’s cross-institutional postgraduate conference on race in British universities

The School of Geography will be hosting a small cross institutional event for BME PhD students considering academic careers. The event has been organised by PhD student Lamees Al Mubarak from The School of Geography and is funded by The Doctoral College Initiative Fund.

  • Dr Robbie Shilliam, Senior Lecturer in International Relations, Queen Mary University of London
  • Dr Nona McDuff, Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, University of Kingston, and Chair of The Higher Education Race Action Group
  • Nathan E. Richards, Goldmsiths, University of London, (Screening of his short film, ‘Absent from the Academy’ with contributions from Paul Gilroy, Selwyn Cudjoe, Denise Noble, Rob Berkeley, Hakim Adi and Robbie Shilliam. Followed by a short Q&A)

The event will be followed by a wine reception from 4.30pm - 6pm. Please note that this is a ticketed event and all tickets have been allocated
