At Barts and The London we ensure that our students receive the training opportunities set out by the Research Councils UK. The Doctoral College run PhD induction sessions once per term and there are regular workshops on a variety of topics. There are regular events for research students, including Junk the Jargon and the annual 3 Minute Thesis contest in which researchers rise to the challenge of presenting their research in an interesting and engaging way in just three minutes. The Business Development Office works with QMUL academics and researchers to facilitate partnerships with businesses and other external organisations, through a range of mechanisms including collaborative research, contract research and consultancy.
