From fun inflatables and give-it-a-go sports, to Queen Mary researchers hosting thought-provoking and hands-on activities, and community organisations running stands and events, there is something for everyone to get involved in.

All activities and workshops are free to attend and food from local providers will be available to buy.

Health and Wellbeing

Get involved with hands-on activities run by Queen Mary researchers and find out what health and wellbeing services local community organisations have to offer. Test your strength and play with slime, learn about mental health, and have a go at life-size board games Operation and Diagnose Who? With opportunities to play football and try Thai boxing, and even to visit a Virtual Reality Dental Clinic, there are fun family activities for everyone to enjoy.  

Hands-On Science

Discover how Chemistry is used in everyday life and learn about microbes in interactive activities with Queen Mary’s science researchers. Play with robots and build your own! Find out about the organs inside a human body and how we can make mini versions of these to study medicine, and use marshmallow and spaghetti to make a car with Formula Student. Learn something new with fun family activities and hands-on science experiments.  

Green Living

Play games and swim with sea turtles in Virtual Reality as you find out how scientists from the Turtle Project use drones in their conservation efforts. Learn about recycling locally and how worms can help you compost food waste. Explore how city design affects air pollution with fun family activities and hands-on demonstrations. With opportunities to take a sensory walk in Stepney Green Park and share your stories of living in Tower Hamlets, there is something for everyone. 

Creative Crafts

Get creative with hands-on craft activities run by community organisations and Queen Mary researchers. Draw yourself as a scientist with Women in Science and Engineering or make a paper cyborg hat with Computer Science 4 Fun. Celebrate your identity with Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre and share you views with the Ocean Regeneration Trust. Build a floating wooden toy and find out about Four Corners' free training programmes. There will be paints, colouring pens and plenty of glitter, so have a go, get creative and learn something new!  

Heritage and Culture

Experience heritage and culture in east London with Queen Mary researchers and local community organisations. Listen to London accents and record your own with London Talks. Swing by the Rich Mix Children’s Bookswap to swap a pre-loved book for a new adventure, and feel free to pick up a new book even if you don’t have one to swap! Find out what’s happening at local art galleries Whitechapel Gallery and Four Corners and take part in interactive activities which celebrate everything that makes east London a great place to live and work.

Find out about local opportunities with community organisations like the Literacy Pirates, the Carers Centre Tower Hamlets, St Joseph's Hospice, Activities for Families Action Group, Social Action for Health, Tower Hamlets Inter Faith Forum, St John's Hospice, Mind in Tower Hamlets and Newham, Rich Mix Cultural Foundation, Four Corners, the Matchgirls Memorial, the Mary Ward Centre and more!
