Girls in Maths Taster Event

When: Tuesday, November 8, 2022, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: School of Mathematical Sciences, Queen Mary University of London, Mile End Campus

This taster event is for students that identify as female and/or non-binary and will include two taster lectures, a transitioning to university talk, and a careers talk. You must be studying A-level Maths or about to enter A-level Maths to be eligible to attend.

Please note that the date of this event has changed and it will now take place on Tuesday 8th November.

10:00  10:30 – Registration and refreshments

10:30 – 10:35 – Welcome Talk

10:35 – 11:05 – Actuarial Science Taster Lecture - Net Sum Value: Should I rent or buy? with Dr Lei Fang

11:05 – 11:35 – Mathematical Sciences Taster Lecture - Black Holes: Questions and Answers with Dr Katy Clough

11:35 – 11:50 – Break

11:50 – 12:05 – Transitioning to University talk

12:05 – 12:15 – Careers talk

12:15 – 13:00 – Lunch

13:00 – Campus Tours/Event ends
