Profile

Chad Everett Cluff is a Tutor in The Centre for Teaching and Innovation (CTI) at the Institute of Dentistry, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. Gaining a BTEC National Award (2005) in Dental Technology, he went on to continue his studies at the Eastman Dental Hospital where he completed his FdSc in Dental Technology awarded by De Montfort University, Leicester (2008). While at the Eastman, he was appointed as DCP Group Committee member and sat as a council member for the Dental Technologist Association (DTA). His interest in educational pathways for dental technologist led him to be invited to participate in the GDC Educations Committee inspection at De Montfort University (DMU) in 2006. The finding of this inspection led the GDC to conform the requirements for the training of dental technologist. He is a former member of the British Institute of Dental and Surgical Technologists (BIDST) and the Christian Dental Fellowship (CDF). He has previously reviewed for the British Dental Journal (BDJ) and Quintessence of Dental Technology (QDT), made editorial contribution to The Journal of Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Technology (IMPT) and sat on the Editorial Advisory Panel for the NHS Career Booklet: First Move Healthcare in 2006. He is an Associate Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (HEA) having been awarded the Certificate in Learning and Teaching (CILT) 2013.  He is currently module lead (occlusion) and an internal examiner for the MSc Dental Technology course (QMUL) and sits on the Editorial Board for Primary Dental Journal, produced by the Faculty of General Dental Practice (FGDP UK). Awarded Non-Clinical Teacher of the Year 2019 by Barts & The London Students Association (BLSA)
