On 7 February 2013 the Centre for European Research was launched at Queen Mary, University of London.
To celebrate the launch, the Centre held a very topical public debate entitled; “this House believes you can be a good European and yet want to leave the EU” with Douglas Carswell MP and Sir Stephen Wall. The debate sparked interesting and thought provoking questions from an enthusiastic audience and the event concluded with the majority of the audience voting against the motion.
After the event there was a lively drinks reception where many guests continued the debate.
