Covid-19 update

This page contains the latest information and advice about Covid-19 for current and applying Visiting Scholars and Students at the School of Law.

Please note that all Queen Mary libraries and academic buildings are currently closed due to nationwide Covid-19 social distancing regulations.

All Visiting Student and Visiting Scholar start dates are now postponed until 14 September 2020 at the earliest.

Please see below for current information regarding all Visiting Scholar and Visiting Student applications to the Department of Law.

Please do get in touch via ccls-law-visiting@qmul.ac.uk regarding any questions or concerns you may have about your start dates or anything else. We are here to help in any way that we can.

Visiting Students who have applied for April, May or July 2020 start dates:

  • All Visiting Student start dates are now going to be postponed to 14 September 2020 at the earliest. This date will be reviewed as the situation evolves. If you had previously hoped to start before September, please get in touch with me on ccls-law-visiting@qmul.ac.uk in order to change your start date.
  • Many Visiting Students will need to make significant outlays for visa, accommodation and travel plans. We therefore advise Students not to commit to any travel or subsistence expenditure until we can be sure that the university can be open to receive applicants at their appointed enrolment date. Please get in touch on ccls-law-visiting@qmul.ac.uk before making any significant payments.
  • Visiting Students with an unconditional offer should be automatically enrolled to start on 14 September 2020, unless you would like to specify otherwise by emailing ccls-law-visiting@qmul.ac.uk. Please check your inbox and/or Admissions portal for a message from Admissions and please let me know if you have not received one.
  • Visiting Students with a conditional offer or those who are yet to receive a formal offer letter from the Admissions portal, please email me on ccls-law-visiting@qmul.ac.uk to let me know your plans.
  • If you are unable to attend Queen Mary University as planned due to the university closure or to travel or social distancing restrictions, please get in touch on ccls-law-visiting@qmul.ac.uk so that we can reschedule or refund your visit.
