photo of Clara BarbianiAfter completing an LLM in Banking & Finance at Queen Mary University, Clara Barbiani started working as a compliance manager for the London office of a boutique investment management firm. In her role, she leads all internal projects and is managing the initiative to transform the internal culture and conduct risk framework in order to enhance SMCR aims. She has also published two academic articles with Sir William Blair on the role of law and ethics in finance. The most recent of these is titled “The beauty of ethics: towards re-establishing trust in the financial sector”. It is published in the Peruvian journal 'Pensamiento Social' and is now also accessible on SSRN.

In November 2019, the Vice-Chancellor of Jindal Global University invited Clara to give a series of lectures to students on the Law and Finance LLM programme. The lectures were based on her research conducted at the Parliament Library in New Delhi, on RBI’s powers and the legal aspects of Central Bank independence in India, which formed the topic of her LLM dissertation.
