Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law Institute webinar

On 22 June 2020, the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law Institute held a webinar to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Centre for Commercial Law Studies. The team took time out to reflect upon and discuss their contributions to the field in recent years.

  • Chris Reed, Professor of Electronic Commerce, will discuss the Institute's research activities, including our ongoing Microsoft-funded Cloud Legal Project, and how, as academics at a Russell Group institution, these activities help to lead our teaching.
  • Laura Edgar, our Director of Taught Programmes at CCLS, the Director of the Distance Learning Programme in Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law, Director of the Flexible LLM and Director of the Paris LLM in Technology, Media and Telecommunications law, will discuss the Institute's innovations in teaching across our various programmes, including teaching in London, Paris, Beijing, and to students globally via our well-established online-learning LLM programme.
  • Robin Callender Smith LLB, LLM, PhD, is a multiple alumnus of our School of Law, as well as Honorary Professor of Media Law at CCLS, with a long career making a significant impact across various areas of TMT legal practice and beyond. Robin will present on the TMTLI /CCLS experience from thec point of view of an alumnus, looking at the ongoing impact we have in the world outside legal academia via our almuni diaspora.
