Paid temporary work for Queen Mary students and graduates, including roles on campus and in the local area.
What is QTemps?
QTemps is Queen Mary’s recruitment service that places students, graduates and members of local community, into temporary work on campus and within the local area.
QTemps provide unique opportunities for students to gain insight into the world of work. Temporary work opportunities allow students to improve their employability skills and gain confidence.
We pay a minimum of £10.75 per hour (London Living Wage) for all our placements, so it is a great way of earning money whilst gaining meaningful work experience.
How will QTemps help you progress your career journey?
If you are still exploring your career options, QTemps is a great opportunity to learn ‘on the job’ about the world of work as well as your own strengths and preferences. If you are looking to acquire experience, QTemps will allow you to develop professional skills around your studies. By using QTemps, you will have exclusive access to paid jobs on campus and with our external business partners.
What kind of roles are available?
We have recently filled positions such as Web Developer, Procurement and Finance Officer, Administration Assistant, Clinical Trials Data Assistant, IT Assistants, Tutors, Library Shelvers, Videographer, E-Learning Assistants and many more.
It is amazing that the university offers such opportunities. I believe that jobs available through QTemps are more skilled and better paid than most other work opportunities available for students and it is nice to work in a familiar environment. The people are really nice and supportive and they care about your studies if you work during term time, which might not always be the case in some private companies. - Queen Mary student
