Develop your employability skills through mentoring from experienced professionals

SBM Career Mentoring connects undergraduate students from the School of Business and Management with a member of our alumni community or an experienced UK-based working professional.

Through these 1-to-1 relationships, students:

  • Gain an insight into their desired career or industry
  • Make a better-informed career choices
  • Develop their employability skills
  • Gain confidence with applying for graduate job roles

Mentors and mentees are provided training and resources to support with mentoring. Mentors report satisfaction at supporting the development of our students.

We run two cohorts every academic year (October to April and February to July).

If you would like further information, please contact Merossa Cofie - Business Development and Mentoring Officer.

"My mentor not only helped me gain great insights into her industry, what her role encompasses and the journey of getting to where she is now, but she also provided me with mentorship and guidance on a variety of personal skills for opportunities and different scenarios in my future. She created a space where I can be open and honest with my questions, and receive helpful and thought-provoking feedback, which aided my personal and professional development".

“Being part of the program was a wonderful experience! I was able to contribute to the development of my mentee and I was able to witness her transformation from shy and lacking in confidence to an outspoken and knowledgeable woman. I could see the confidence and knowledge growing with every new meeting and my mentee becoming clearer on her interests and desired career path.  I truly recommend for every QMUL graduate to get involved in the program and contribute to the future development of one fellow alumni!”
