Profile

The Business Development Manager is a member of the Professional Services Team who leads on the School’s Business Development initiatives. They have significant impact from both a reputation and operational position. Their work leads to substantial, direct improvement of the student experience. They provide expert leadership in the School for the development of the School’s business as a provider of management education to external partners and clients. The Business Development manager identifies, develops and maintains relationships with internal and external organisations and agencies, supporting expansion and the diversifying of the School’s sources of income and impact in business and management education.

Rachel project leads and advises academic colleagues in the School who wish to explore or establishing new partnerships and activities. She identifies risks in the delivery of business development initiative and collaboratively developing processes to mitigate those risks.

She is the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholder leads on implementation of business development projects in line with the ambitions of the School and University as a whole. Rachel is the key administrative lead for the BSc Business Management (Social Change) Apprenticeship degree and works closely with the Programme Director, Deputy Director, Education and the Teaching and Learning Teams. 

The Business Development Manager sits in the Business Development Team and line manages the Business Development Coordinator, Student Placement and Mentoring Officer and the Business Development Project Officer.
