The Marketing Manager is a member of the Professional Services Team in the School of Business and Management, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the central Marketing Team at Queen Mary University of London. They develop and implement an effective marketing and student recruitment strategy for the School of Business and Management and take the lead on marketing activities for the School with a view to increasing the number of high quality applications for taught postgraduate and undergraduate programmes from the UK, EU and overseas.
Lara develops and implements a marketing plan to increase the number and quality of applications to the School of Business and Management from well-qualified prospective taught postgraduate and undergraduate students from both the EU and overseas. Lara advises the School on developing their portfolio of Masters and Bachelors courses by analysing market conditions and undertakes market research including analysis of School positioning and brand, future sources of undergraduate and postgraduate students for the School and recent graduate destinations, in line with overall Queen Mary marketing strategy.
Lara manages the School’s advertising campaigns for UK, EU and overseas taught postgraduate and undergraduate student recruitment and manage and deliver the design, production, reviewing and distribution of all external marketing and publicity materials, including brochures, prospectuses, etc., and creates other, relevant and targeted pre- and post-application digital and/or print marketing materials. Lara provides relevant and up to date content for the School website and develops digital marketing strategy for the School and maintain the School’s digital presence using programme listings and student portals in the UK, EU and overseas. Lara develops and implements a communications plan for enquirers, applicants, offer-holders, and influencers.
Lara organises academic representation for overseas recruitment activities including but not limited to school, college and university visits, alumni and offer holder events and recruitment fairs and coordinate inward group visits to Queen Mary from prospective students and their influencers. Lara leads on the development and implementation of conversion events for the School including open events, offer-holder days and virtual events, and provide direction and coordination to other School staff involved in marketing and conversion activities.
Lara works with the Faculty Public Relations Manager to promote the School and ensure internal communications channels are in place to staff and incoming students. Lara assists with promotion of marketing materials related to high profile events and conferences for the School by engaging with School alumni through emails, newsletters and events. Lara coordinates the recruitment of the School's Student Ambassador scheme.
The Marketing Manager leads the Marketing and Recruitment Team and is line manager to the Digital Communications Officer and the Recruitment and Marketing Coordinator.
