Student Engagement Manager
The Student Engagement Manager provides leadership in the School for the administration of student engagement in the areas of undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research, working with academics and support staff across the School advising and supporting them in order to facilitate and develop both new initiatives and support systems. They enhance student engagement and participation across the School, analysing multiple data sources to enable effective management of key information and student support systems. They work closely with the Associate Dean (Education), Director of Recruitment and Admissions, Director of Student Engagement, School Manager, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research teams, and liaise with other members of academic staff.
James oversees the extenuating circumstances process, runs the academic advising sessions and is responsible for monitoring student retention and student recruitment. He works with academics and support staff across the School in order to facilitate and develop both new initiatives and support systems. He also representing the School’s interests on various School, Faculty and University-wide committees and working groups.
James line manages the School's Engagement Team which consists of the Student Support Officers, Academic Writing Tutor and Quantitative Skills Tutor.
The Student Engagement Manager, and the Student Engagement Team are part of the Teaching and Learning Team which is lead by the Teaching and Learning Manager
