What to expect

Based on our experience and the feedback provided by your course representatives at the Student Staff Liaison Committee, we have put together a range of activities next week to support your academic and professional development in this crucial stage of the semester.

These have been scheduled around your lectures to hopefully make it easier for you attend, should you wish to take advantage of additional support.

Managing Your Mental Health
Wednesday 2pm in GO Jones LG1.

QM+ workshop
Not fully confident using/navigating QM+? This is the workshop for you. This interactive session (bring your laptop/device to practice) covers: a brief re-introduction to QMplus, assignment submission and Turnitin tutorial and Q & A/troubleshooting.

Managing Your Assessments Drop in Sessions (effective time management):
Need help managing your workload or planning assignments to meet deadlines? This interactive session will help you to prioritise and organise your time over the coming weeks.

Report Writing Workshops
A complete guide to structure and writing style for business reports. This session is designed both for SBM modules with a report writing requirement and general business reports.

1-2-1 Career Coaching Appointments:
SBM’s Career Coach, Iain McLoughlin, has ring-fenced 8 hours of 1-2-1 career coaching appointments between 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm on Monday 11th November and 3pm-5pm on Tuesday 12thNovember, exclusively for SBM first year students.

SBM Internships Talent Pool 2019-20 
The talent pool works similarly to an internal agency by having a "pool" of candidates which we can access when we have internships or job vacancies within SME’s, charities and within QM.
Apply via Target Connect submitting your CV and cover letter statement (your cover letter statement must be tailored for one of the internships)
Register for a CV & Cover letter workshop: Tuesday 12 Nov 1-2pm, Wed 13 Nov, 3-4pm, Thurs 14 Nov 10-11am.
