Emmet McCallion

Studied: BSc Business Management
Now: Senior Associate at PWC

Why did you choose to study at QMUL?
I chose to enrol at the School of Business and Management because I really liked the look and sound of the course as advertised in the prospectus. I liked the range of modules available, and the rankings of the university in various tables was influential in my choice. And of course the location of the campus, between the City and Canary Wharf, was an ideal position for networking opportunities and employment prospects.

What did you enjoy most about your degree programme?
Numbers was always my strong point at school and that was also the case on the Business and Management course. I found Financial Management and the accounting modules most interesting and they set me up well for studying towards a professional qualification. The International Business module was very interesting and I found myself surprised at how much I enjoyed it as I never really thought of myself as someone that enjoyed wordy subjects. The teaching and the material on the course were fantastic and the actual course was intellectually stimulating. That module in particular has opened up my eyes to a whole new area of business - global supply chains - that I may like to explore in my future career.
