School of Business and Management

Azmeena Azim

Programme: Business Management BSc (2017)

Why did you choose to study at QMUL?
While researching universities I realised that the School of Business and Management at QMUL was a very prestigious environment to study business. Also, when compared to other universities, I felt that the structure of the course would develop my skills at a faster rate than other universities. This is because they encourage students to not only study business from books but practically experience business in the real world.

What do you like most about your degree programme?
I love that I am able to learn from industry professionals and those who are masters in their chosen field. This means that I am learning from the best. The staff are so supportive, always helping us with our studies and to find work experience and internships. Also, its great that in the second and third year students can choose their own modules which means that I will have a unique degree compared to everyone else.

What is it like being a student in London?
For me being a student in London offers many new and exciting opportunities. Firstly, there are a variety of things to do in my leisure time such as visiting many historical and cultural landmarks. In terms of the academic side, London is the business hub of the world with many large firms located here. As a business student this really appeals to me as it means more opportunities to find internships and work experience.

What is the most interesting thing on your degree programme that you've learnt so far?
I have learnt that the study of Business Management is in fact very broad with many sub-disciplines such as business history, ethics, governance, marketing economics and innovation. Prior to starting my degree I did not know the scope of the subject that I was going to study and now I am very happy as it means I will have a broad education.
