Nazli Verizolgu

Graduation year: 2015
Programme: MSc Marketing

Why did you choose to study at the School of Business and Management?
I always knew I wanted to study marketing and that the marketing programme in Queen Mary was one of the best. Also, I knew that the student satisfaction is very high thanks to a friend of mine who was doing her undergraduate degree at the Business School.

What did you enjoy most about your degree programme?
The teachers really value the students and always try to do their best, the quality of the classes are really good and not only do we acquire knowledge, but we also learn to look at things from different perspectives and analyse them. The international community of the college also gave me a different experience.

What did you think of the social atmosphere on and around campus?
Queen Mary has the most beautiful campus on London. The environment, the school, the facilities are really good. The campus is almost in the centre but in a secluded and quiet area which makes studying a lot easier. There are also good sports clubs offer many different classes, plus a very well equipped gym which makes working out easy and fun.

The east end is the place to be in London right now. Some of the most popular areas in London like Shoreditch or Brick Lane are only 15 minutes away by tube.  There are always lots of activities to do during the day and night throughout the week.

What extra-curricular activities did you participate in?
I was part of teh marketing team in the QMUL Formula Student Racing Team. This was a great opportunity to gain more experience in the area, especially as we got to do real marketing pitches to companies for sponsorship.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of applying to QMUL?
The Marketing programme in Queen Mary has a variety of module offerings which makes it very easy to find classes that will help you towards your career aspiration. The staff and the lecturers are very friendly and helpful, making the whole experience a lot easier. There is a huge international community coming from all over the world so you can experience and learn about new cultures, make new friends. And on top of all these, the campus is very beautiful with a gorgeous nature along a canal. The city centre is only 15 minutes away by tube and the leisure activities in East End are many.
